How much are the adoption fees, and what do the fees cover?

DOG ADOPTION FEES

Puppies (less than 1 year): $450
Young adults (1 to under 3 years): $300
Adults (3 to under 8 years): $275
Seniors (8 years and over): $200
Special needs: by donation

CAT ADOPTION FEES

Kittens (less than 1 year): $225
Young adults (1 year to under 3 years): $150
Adults (3 to under under 8 years): $100
Seniors (8 years and over): $75
Special needs: by donation

*Fees are subject to change.
**To participate in the Senior-to-Senior program, dogs and cats must be 8 years or older and adopters must be 65 years or older.

What the adoption fee covers

Every animal that comes to NCAL receives a medical evaluation, spay or neuter, vaccinations, a microchip, enrichment and love.

DOGS

  • Spay or Neuter surgery
  • NCAL ID tag and microchipping
  • De-worming, Heartworm test and preventative
  • Bordetella and DA2PPV vaccinations
  • Rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks or older)
  • Flea preventative
  • Temperament testing
  • Ear cleaning and nail trimming
  • Free vet exam

CATS

  • Spay or Neuter surgery
  • NCAL ID tag and microchipping
  • De-worming
  • Bordetella and DA2PPV vaccinations
  • Rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks or older)
  • FVRCP vaccination
  • Feline Leukemia and FIV tests
  • Ear cleaning and nail trimming
  • Free vet exam
