Ok here it is – my 09/09/09 freebie:
If you are a Vermont-based business on Twitter, I’d love to punch up your Twitter background – for FREE! Be one of the commenters to this post on 09/09/09. Explain how social media benefits your biz in less than two nice paragraphs, and I’ll create a snazzy custom branded background for your Twitter page.
THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!
Here’s an example of Twitter backgrounds I have created for other businesses: Roll over the Twitter tab on my portfolio page >>

One last thing: By commenting, you’re giving me permission to quote you in any possible future posts about social media for business. Which means for more pings for you!

This is HUGE – if you aren’t thinking about the impression the Twitter page for your business makes on your audience, they won’t be thinking about it either!
Make a splash … be authentic … let your page reflect what your unique business brings to Twitter!
Social media is about pull, not push. It is about creating a community who is interested in hearing what you have to share, and listening to that community in return. It allows for the individual to have a voice amongst the corporate noise. Relationships truly matter in this day and age; we want to know the people we choose to do business with.
Excellent points Dann, thanks.
Yeah – Great idea!
Social Media is a way to connect with our community. We pass on links and ideas that are interesting to us and love learning what is on the minds of people around us. And it’s fun to meet new people! (Actually the best part of social media is meeting people in person!)
Thanks Amy – you get it: Connection, Community, Learning.
Greetings!
The ECHO Lake Aquarium & Science Center has been expanding their twitter empire over the past few months! We look at Twitter as a tool to find new audiences for ECHO, to connect and learn from other museums and science centers and to engage the online community in a two-way conversation about current science topics.
Right now ECHO is represented in the Twitterverse by a variety of staff members; some in education, some in animal care, and some working stewardship. We’d love to pull the team together with a snazzy branded “look”.
Hooray for your wonderful offer!
